The founder
Joe Henricks
Joe brings more than 30 years of progressive safety, health, and construction management experience to every client engagement. He designs and leads comprehensive safety programs across construction, utilities, healthcare, education, and the public sector — work that spans federal OSHA, VOSH, NC OSH, and Cal/OSHA compliance, Process Safety Management, OCIP and CCIP loss control, and ICRA healthcare construction.
That includes oversight of hundreds of projects under the largest K–12 Owner Controlled Insurance Program in the nation, where his region helped drive loss ratios below 5% and more than $100 million in cumulative savings. From high-pressure pipeline replacements and occupied hospital renovations to multi-million-dollar school modernizations, the through-line is one outcome: incident-free project delivery.
A U.S. Navy veteran and a Montana Tech environmental engineering graduate, Joe is known for strong field presence, practical and cost-conscious solutions, and a people-first approach that aligns safety with productivity and business results. Every consultation is screened and answered by a credentialed professional — usually Joe.

The standard
Excellence. Expertise. Experience.
Excellence
Programs that meet or exceed what federal OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and VPP evaluators expect — and still fit the realities of a busy project. We have managed and supported sites through Voluntary Protection Programs, state-plan best-practice initiatives, and rigorous client and insurance audits.
Expertise
Incident and accident investigation is where consultancies get exposed. Ours runs to serious injuries and fatalities, using structured methods aligned with recognized OSHA fatality and catastrophe protocols — findings that become defensible documentation, not shelf reports.
Experience
Decades on active jobsites and plant floors — construction, general industry, and the public sector. The advice you get was learned where the hazards are, not from behind a desk. That is the difference clients feel in the first conversation.

Proof, not promises
References from the people who ran the work — project executives, senior project managers, and principals on stadium steel, an occupied school modernization, high-rise crane operations, and pharmaceutical demolition. Published with permission, quoted in full, never composited.
Erecting steel on a project the scale of SoFi Stadium leaves no margin for a reactive safety program. Professional Safety & Management embedded a site supervisor who understood connecting, decking, and controlled decking zones at a journeyman level — not just the regulatory language. Their daily pre-task planning kept our ironworkers ahead of the hazard instead of chasing it, and we closed out the steel package with zero lost-time incidents. PS&M didn’t slow the schedule; they protected it.
Running a modernization with students and staff on an active campus is a different kind of risk, and PS&M treated it that way. They built site logistics and separation controls that satisfied the district, coordinated our ICRA-style containment and dust controls, and trained our foremen to own their own inspections. Board members and parents asked hard questions at public meetings, and we had documented answers every time. PS&M made our safety program something we were proud to show, not something we defended.
PS&M’s critical lift pre-planning on the First & Grand high-rise was the most disciplined I’ve seen in twenty-five years. They reviewed load charts, ground bearing, rigging configurations, and swing-path exposures well before mobilization, then walked every lift with the operator, rigger, and signal person so the plan held up in the field. When conditions changed, they stopped working, re-planned, and got us moving again quickly. Every pick landed exactly as planned.
Selective demolition inside a former pharmaceutical facility carries structural, chemical, and regulatory exposures that most consultants aren’t equipped for. PS&M led the hazard assessment, engineering survey review, and sequencing plan, and their site supervision kept our operators, cutters, and abatement crews coordinated instead of working over each other. We completed a technically demanding demolition with no recordable injuries and a clean regulatory record. PS&M earned our trust on day one and kept it through final closeout.
We’ve used PS&M across stadium steel, an occupied school modernization, high-rise crane work, and pharmaceutical demolition — four completely different risk profiles — and the consistency is what stands out. Their supervisors show up credentialed, field-credible, and ready to lead a toolbox talk the same morning they arrive. Documentation is audit-ready without being asked. PS&M has become our default safety partner on any project where the consequences of getting it wrong are unacceptable.
